It was ridiculous. You may have beaten the champion of the region--and sure--he may be an Elite Four member, but it was not your responsibility to take care of his every whim. Grimsley just had a habit of being good with words, and seemed to always get what he wanted.

The air conditioning in the Pokemon League had gone out, in the middle of the searing summer. While you had insisted on Iris remaining champion and taking on challengers, you of course had come running to the League when she had called you, frantic about a terrible problem. All other three Elite Four members were dealing with the heat in their own way. You had been incredulous when you had arrived. The air conditioning was out, so what? But you soon realized that it indeed was a terrible, awful problem. The mechanics were on the job of fixing it, but it would take another couple of hours before the Elite Four and Champion could take on challengers comfortably.

You had opted to hang out with Iris, but she had ushered you away and down the hall. After a couple of minutes of aimless wandering in the sweltering building, someone had grabbed you. You had almost screamed, had a hand not covered your mouth. You whirled around after being released, only to find none other than the elite four Grimsley standing before you. Unlike when you usually saw him, he seemed to be a bit disgruntled. His hands were at his hips, and he had ditched his scarf. But in his dark clothing, you figured that he was practically sweating to death. His outer jacket had been shed, and his white undershirt was unbuttoned.

“Forgive me for the suddenness.” He hummed, catlike eyes flickering up to look at your face. Out of any Elite Four member, you had the least amount of experience with Grimsley.

“What the fuck was that?” You were thoroughly befuddled and reluctant to even give him the time of day, after what he had just done. His expression shown with amusement as you questioned him.

“I see you don’t waste any time. I was wondering if would spend some time with me. It’s natural for the Elite Four to want to know their Champion, is it not?” You wanted to tell him that Iris was still the champion, and that he should be respecting her instead of you. But before you could even open your mouth to speak, he turned around. “Of course, dearest Iris is still taking on challengers, but I’m eager to know the big, brave trainer who managed to defeat us.” You narrowed your eyes at him, but wearily followed him as he walked inside of the Elite Four chamber.

“I hate to break it to you, but I’m not even that interesting.” You told him in a disgruntled manner, wrinkling your nose at the notion that you were some mighty and superb trainer with an unmatchable skill level. You trailed after him, walking up the stairs, until you finally reached the top.

“Oh?” He was suddenly very close, eyes sharp and gleaming with interest as he looked at you. You flinched, moving backwards. However, you tripped over your own two feet. There was a whoosh of air, but you didn’t topple to the ground. A slender hand supported your back, preventing you from falling. “My dear, you’re so very incorrect.” He brought you upwards, sliding one hand down to the small of your back, while his other hand grasped yours.

“What the hell--?” You hardly had the chance to question him, before he began to move, dragging you into a waltz.

“What interests you may not be the same as what interests me. It is all in the eye of the beholder.“ His movements were swift and precise as he danced with you. Suddenly, the heat didn’t seem to bother him quite as much. You were clumsy, but he gracefully moved and slid as he maneuvered you skillfully with him. He didn’t seem to mind when you accidentally stepped on his foot once… or twice. “I think I’ll take a gamble.” He purred moving backwards towards the couch, where he seated himself, leaving you to tumble atop of him, gasping.

“I want to know all about you.” He murmured in your ear, causing you to shiver and jolt. You threw yourself off of him and onto the ground, too stunned at the suddenness to speak. “I want to know what makes you smile, what makes you tick. I’m putting all of my cards in.”

“Don’t disappoint me.”
